Miracles and sunshine
For those who dispute the power of prayer, I give you my son! :) When Christie took him to Starship Hospital on Monday for a surgical consultation, the doctor said that the cyst (or whatever it was) had disappeared! All that remained was a slightly swollen lymph node. So no tests needed and no surgery! Thank God!
If he swells like that again, we’ll take him to the ED and they can diagnose him when he’s presenting symptoms, but for the meantime, he’s a happy, healthy little boy! And we are over the moon about it.
With that out of our heads, we’ve spent a lot of this week (comparatively) at the beach! The weather has been so amazing that we’ve had two dinners at the beach - including fish and chips on Friday night. David is at the stage where he can pretty much amuse himself at this point. So long as there is food to put sand in and feet/parents to bury in the sand, he’s sorted. We even ran into our friend Bridget at the beach on Friday - random!
So it’s been a pretty great week all in all! ![]()
Hair-raising fun at the hairport
Quite a week this week for not-so-little David (he really is quite a lot taller than other kids his age. Don’t know where he gets that from though.
)
This week they had a field trip at Playcentre. Now, I always think that the mothers involved in Playcentre are always very brave when they take the kids out of the relatively-safe confines of the centre to show them the big wide world - brave, or certifiably crazy! Last time it was the fish markets; this week it was the Dairy Flat Airport…or as David calls it, “Derry Fat Hairport”. We have some photos of him seeing the “panes” and “helly-totters” and generally having a great time. Except when he ran off with two of the other more delinquent boys and had to be put in “time out” - which resulted in him lying face-down on the ground with his eyes closed, as that’s something that makes him invisible of course.
Yesterday we had Hamish Redmore’s baptism down at St.Mary’s. It was a beautiful sunny day, and David was…quite well behaved. :) The cutest bits were when he was copying everything Fr.Craig was doing - holding out his hands and making the Sign of the Cross like a little copycat. Portents of what may come? ![]()

When that happy event finally took place, we started using the blog to update friends and family on what he and we get up to each week. It's more interesting than it sounds...we hope! If you want more than that, check out the other parts of the site.
Thanks for visiting.
