Happy New Year

Posted by James on January 3rd, 2010 at 7:43 am

Right – I’ll start with a resolution: more blog posts in ‘10!  :)   Sorry at the lack of updates, but December was simply crazy-town!

We’ve had a great Christmas season catching up with family and friends.  Aunty Tennille is back from London for a couple of weeks, as is Uncle Brian and Uncle Rick, so David and Sarah have had plenty of time getting re-acquainted and introduced (respectively) with them and spending time with the rellies in general.  We’ve had fantastic weather as well, so it really has been a great Christmas.

We’ll be spending some more time with Christie’s family over the next few days as well – the beach beckons! – and I hope that the good weather continues (please, God?) so we can maximise the recharging before heading back to work the week after this one.  :(

In terms of general updates, Davey is doing very well.  He had a great Christmas too, by all accounts, and was very “helpful” with helping Mummy, Daddy, Sarah and anyone else within reaching distance to open their presents.  With Wiggles tickets in his stocking again this year, he’s a very happy boy!

Sarah took all the Christmas fuss in her stride.  She’s now sleeping through the night as a wonderful side-effect of all the forced routine so early on in her little life.  She is also very cuddly – earning her nickname from me as “Sarah Bear” given that she appears to be part Koala!  :)

The big event for her was her baptism yesterday.  We picked a blazing hot day to be in at St.Mary’s, but it was great to have her baptised alongside her cousin, Mieke, and in front of many of our family and friends who took time out of their holidays to come and celebrate with us.  And, in keeping with “New Year Resolution #2: More Photos in ‘10″, I’ve already uploaded photos from the big day.

So, what’s our plans for 2010?  Well, our plans are for a quiet start to the new decade (I almost hear God chuckling already!), but we’ll see how that goes.  We do want to wish everyone reading this a (belated) happy Christmas, and a great start to the new year – one which we pray is filled with God’s overly abundant blessings for everyone!
